Hello, my name is Adam Beltran. During the summer semesters of 2019, I worked as an Intern in the Interpretation Division for the National Park Service. My assignment was at Joshua Tree National Park in Twentynine Palms, California.
National Park Service
The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The National Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout the country. The National Park Service is responsible for managing the National Parks and Monuments throughout the country.
Interpretation is a vital part of the National Park Service. The Interpretation Division is responsible for helping visitors understand about the park resources so that they support the care for the park resources. Through interpretation, interpreters establish the value of preserving the park resources by helping audiences discover the meanings and significances associated with those resources. The interpretation division promotes stewardship through interactive programs that invoke thought and, eventually, action.
